Drug Court
Drug court was designed to handle criminal cases that specifically involve “drug addicted” offenders. Counties throughout California have been establishing drug courts to provide a more effective way for individuals to overcome their drug addictions. Drug court focuses on helping individuals overcome their drug addictions by sentencing them to drug treatment programs, and providing them with extensive supervision.
These drug treatment programs are typically broken into two phases. As soon as an individual completes one phase, he or she will be rewarded with more freedoms. After the individual fully completes the program, his or her case is dismissed.
